Caster's Meeting Banquet

Fishing Contestant Activities: In addition to the fly fishing competition
in the tournament, there will be a "Caster's Meeting" banquet held on Wednesday evening, the night
before the tournament start, with a banquet style dinner and a cash bar. The meeting will allow any late registration of teams, handout
of Caster Bags filled with goodies, rule presentation, t-shirt distribution, the 3 day event schedule and signup for the
casting competition. This is a "required attendance" by at least one (1) team representative for all teams entered in the
tournament.
Following the Central Park closing awards ceremony on Saturday evening, the "Caster's Banquet" will be held for all competitors and sponsors with
remianing seats being sold to the public. A banquet ticket is included in the entry fee for all competitors and additional tickets
may be purchased in advance by competitors. This banquet is to thank the competitors, sponsors and the town of San Pedro, Belize.
Central Park Activities: The Tres Pescadoss Slam Tournament
will have numerous activities for the whole family. The activities will be held in Central Park in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye.
Fly Casting Competition: Watch as the tournament guests and the island's
top fly casters compete for the prize and the bragging rights as the 2009 Belize Fly Casting Champion. There are 2 categories for the
casting contest; distance
and accuracy and 3 divisions; youth, women and men, in each category. The winner's score in each category will be combined to determine the over all winner. See the "Rules" page for the competition details.
NEW!Mini Fly Rod Casting Competition:
A new fly casting competition has just been added to the Tres Pescadoss tournament. With stiff, fast action these Mini Fly Rods will test the compeitor's skill at casting these
27 inch fly rods, yes you read it right, 27 inch. Divisions will include youth, women and men. See the "Rules" page for the competition details.
Fly Fishing Demonstrations: During the tournament fly fishing
demonstrations will be held to introduce the public to the sport of saltwater fly fishing. Areas covered will be equipment used,
knots used, how to cast, how to set the hook, how to land fish, how to release the fish and much, much more.
Fly Tying Demonstrations: Also during the tournament, fly tying
demonstrations will be held to introduce the public to the art of fly tying. Learn about the materials used and how to tie the flies
and best of all, a fly that you can use over and over with out the need for catching bait.
Food, Drink and More: In addition to all of the activities going
on during each day of the tournament, food and drink vendors, gift vendors and more will be ready to keep everyone happy.
Caster's Meeting Banquet: The Caster's Meeting Banquet
on Wednesday evening August 11th will start at 8:00 PM with the venue TBD. One member from each competing team must attend
the Caster's Meeting Banquet. Each Pro Team entry comes with
three (3) tickets to the Caster's Meeting Banquet (1 for each fly fisher and 1 for their guide) and each Amateur Team entry comes with two (2) tickets.
Closing Caster's Banquet: The closing ceremonies on Saturday will be held in Central Park.
After the initial presentations for the public the closing Caster's Banquet will be held, also in Central Park for the sponsors, supporters and teams.
This final event is the stage for thanking all of the supporters and teams that made it all possible. The Perpetual Trophy will be awarded during the banquet as well as other honors.
